When you buy a ticket on Spirt airlines website, you can buy travel insurance on that ticket at the same time. In fact, it's pretty hard NOT to buy that coverage. The $12 fee is added to your fare automatically as you complete your purchase unless you uncheck the box labeled "yes, include valuable travel insurance with my booking and make my travel worry-free!"
